Allergen Disclosure for Dining Experiences Act Knowledge Hub

About the ADDE Knowledge Hub

About This Hub

The ADDE Act Compliance Hub is an independent educational resource for restaurant operators, compliance teams, and foodservice professionals working to comply with California’s Allergen Disclosure for Dining Experiences (ADDE) Act (SB-68). The site brings together practical guidance on allergen disclosure, menu labeling, ingredient data management, operational workflows, and related compliance requirements in one place.

Our aim is to explain what the law requires, how it applies in practice, and what operators need to do to maintain compliance as regulations evolve.

The content published on this site is written for operators rather than lawyers. Every article is designed to help restaurant businesses understand the practical implications of the legislation and implement processes that support accurate allergen disclosure across multiple locations.

The background

Why this hub exists

California’s ADDE Act (SB-68) came into effect on July 1, 2026, introducing new allergen disclosure requirements for restaurant chains operating 20 or more locations.

As operators prepared for implementation, much of the available guidance was either highly legal in nature or too general to support day-to-day operational decision-making.

The purpose of this hub is to provide a single, reliable source of practical guidance for restaurant operators. Now that the legislation is in force, our focus is on helping businesses maintain compliance through accurate food data, effective operational processes, and current regulatory guidance.

Our research

Nutritics commissions and publishes research with independent, accredited firms including Technomic. Topics include the impact on operators of food regulation, menu labeling, allergen management, nutrition policy, and operational best practice to support evidence-based guidance for the foodservice industry.

Findings from this research help inform the practical resources published throughout this hub.

As our research programme expands, published reports and supporting resources will be available through a dedicated research library.
